The oxygen sensor is a pretty easy replacement, but getting the old one out can be very difficult. The years of heat and rust cause the threads to become frozen. They make special sockets that have a slot for the wires, (which most auto parts stores will rent) but I usually just break off the wire connector part of the old one and wrench on it or bang on it (or a combo or the both) until I get it loose. After that it's just screwing in the new one and plugging in the connector.
