True. In fact, the way that a diesel engine shuts off is by stopping the flow of fuel. I had a 85 model MB 300D. That engine ran like a sewing machine with over 300K miles on it

Now my son has it and is going to likely junk it. I would sort of like to have the engine out of it and mate it to a big ol' generator that could run my entire house in the event of a power failure.
