To keep from getting hoodwinked in the future ...my tip to you is to first, save the URL address and learn how to use the online part databases (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do and http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/) so that you can look up any part for your car based on the last 7 digits of your VIN...and get its 11 digit BMW part nbr so that when you go shopping for the part, you can use it to help you get the correct part for your car. The part databases also help you deconstruct/reconstruct your X5 when doing a project...and comes in handy if you get stuck...because it can reveal a hidden screw/bolt/clip etc. ...and you can also cross reference part nbrs to see if they are used on other BMW models.

For instance, I will assume that you have the pano sunroof since you have an 06 model year listed...so if you look at the diagram below (and click the link to get the 3 part nbrs ...the 2 drains in the rear are the same, but the front left/right drains have different part nbrs)...you'll know that your pano sunroof does indeed have drains that will move water that infiltrates the sunroof's cassette area and drain it to the exterior of the vehicle:

(see #12 - two drains in front, & two drains in rear)
