Personally I don't see much difference between the two builds. The Dixie SAV/SUV seems just as solid as the one from the "old country". However the X1 DOES seem "tinner" than the X3 but I put that down to the class and cost more than the build. Now with Japanese cars I DO see a difference between the ones built here and the ones built in Japan. Not in the engineering, but in the assembling of the body and interior parts. There appears to be tighter QC in the Japanese built versions. Still that is not to say the cars are "bad, but the imported versions just seem screwed together a little better with more attention paid to the details IMHO.
