You are so right that is a pain to try to get to Fiesole. My viaMichelin printout gave the exit to take and then said diive through Florence to get to Fiesole. What the hell kind of directions are those. Fortunately I had downloaded directions from Villa Fiesole Hotel which said to follow the blue arrows. Well there were gaps, so I did make 1 wrong tun. Villa Fiesole was a wonderful hotel. I stayed at the Annex. I had a large balcony right over the road up to Fiesole and a beautiful view of Florence.
But at least you have wild boar in Texas!
That's exactly what we did. We just followed the blue arrows to Fiesole. Sometimes they are a bit confusing and you don't know whether they want you to turn or go straight. We stayed in the same part that houses the reception and the restaurant.
