My misfire codes stopped when I replaced the broken hoses, so, I never pursued it further.
Sorry. I don't have any other details.

EDIT: Here's a shot of the dipstick guide tube hose from another thread on the X5 forum where they replaced the CCV with a $3 PCV valve.
