[QUOTE=98blk540;7821I have a 2003 x5, I had it towed about 1 year ago and since then my remote stopped working and the light inside when I would open the door, also the center unlock button. So I was using the key to open the car since and last week as I was locking the car with the key if felt something snap and I heard something fell inside thed door, now the key won't open it, I was able to use some tools pull the door just enough to grab the inside handle with a wire and even push the center lock but nothing happens it doesn't open please help it has been a week now[/QUOTE]
After I had my door locked for 2 weeks I came up with a solution that worked, remember my car was double locked so the central lock is not working or remote so by pulling on the handles from inside it wouldn't open.
I tried everything, pressing central lock button and pulling handles twice, nothing worked and my next step was to break the window but good thing I didn't do it
I will share the solution maybe it would help someone.
1. Remove the key cover on the handle
2. There is a screw that hold the lock assembly, but you can unscrew it from the inside only, so I drilled it all the way through.
3. Pull the assembly out
4. Inside you will see the white hole with a cross looking like in picture 5
5. Then take a flat screw driver and turn it as you would with a key.
