I cannot drive my X1 with even an iPad on the passenger seat without the seatbelt chime going off. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity so I can put my iPad or computer bag on the seat without fastening the seat belt?
Weird. My 30lb dog can usually sit in it fine. It depends where she is at though, if shes on the edge it will chime, if shes curled up in a ball with weight evenly distributed, nothing. Sounds like there is something wrong with your sensor.
Better yet, does anyone know how to disable it. I was able to do this in my other car, a Toyota but have not taken the time to look at the wiring under the BMW seat.
Somehow tinkering with the electronics on this car (or any late generation new car for that matter) seems like an invitation for trouble.
If anyone has disabled the passenger gong, please post.
