I notice the X3 does not have a coin holder or an ash tray, just wondering where do you guys keep the loose change for parking meter and such.

Or go to the Container Store and get something that fits in the center arm rest storage compartment.

I pulled the removable cup holders and put them in the base of the drivers side door panel. I drop my loose change into them and find it easy to grab change as needed.

Have a pouch in the the center armrest.

I do like the idea of putting a container in the base of the driver's side door panel. We use our cup holders for cups.

We learned, accidentally, that the cig lighter outlet in the front console will swallow coins and blow its fuse.

This has been an issue for years, dare I say decades, with BMW. On one hand they are innovators and can change alot, and on the other hand suffer from age old issues without addressing them. :dunno:

I don't why they did not put one in the X3. There's plenty of space in the side door pocket. My 2003 BMW M5 has a coin dispenser built into the side pocket that fits flush and can rotate outward. Holds like 10 of each, quarters, dimes, nickels. They dispense one at a time. Pretty handy and organized.
