I have to replace mine. I can remove the interior panel to see the screws holding in the lights, but I can't get them out. I'm hoping i do NOT have to remove any of the exterior trunk trim pieces.
I do not 100% know. Though, I stood idly by while an indy removed my taillights from the trunk. Took him all of 5 minutes. Few screws, disconnected a load of wires, and that was it. Swear, maybe 5 minutes. But I don't know how. I was just making sure they didn't scratch my $hit. I have the exact same year/model. And yes, it was the trunk lights.
I figured it out. there's a lip that goes under the outside painted plastic that surrounds the lights, license plate etc. There is one screw that loosens that piece and then you kind of yank it out a bit and the lights lift out. After that, the second side was easy. And only one wire to disconnect. Thanks
If not, click on the blue highlighted url directory at the top of the page at the /lights section and it will list how to remove/replace any of your exterior light fixtures.
