I was selected for the Nitto Motivo tire review. Nitto will send me a set to test, and I will provide my thoughts about the tires . My BMW 545i has the Sport Package, and I am currently running Yokohama high performance summer tires on it. These tires are not very worn, but I welcome the chance to try a new product. I am very anxious to see how the Motivos respond in all climates, as they are billed as a performance all season tire.
The Nitto tires arrived at my house on a Thursday. I did not have a chance to get them mounted until the following Saturday, two days ago. An excellent local independent tire shop mounted and balanced the new Nittos and performed a 4 wheel alignment. I have only driven about 20 miles on them so far, but I have some first impressions. First of all, they are very quiet. Most new tires will be quieter than worn tires, but I did notice this immediately. I like the look of the tread pattern, but not sure about the sidewall. I prefer a more “squared look” for the sidewall. Probably not something most people will notice/care about. The ride was definitely softer as well, probably as these are an all season tire versus the dedicated summers that I had just removed. Again, not sure how I feel about that until I have a chance to see how they perform in a spirited driving situation.
I’m looking forward to getting some seat time with these tires. I’ll update as I have more feedback to share.
