wanted to share some pics of new aero kit for X5.
total cost $3800 parts, paint, and labor at private shop in houston. install lasted 1 week.
according to installer, the hardest part was cutting perfect holes to fit the muffler. they had to find a special drill to handcut the hole. 4.8 emblem was moved to back.
despite cost, i am very satisfied. haven't seen another one around town.
I agree. It looks great and the Euro clears would complete the transformation. The 4.8 wheels look really nice with the aero kit and I really like the new front bumper with the facelifted aero kit. It it not as plain and the previous one. Nicely done!

the aero kit may be purchased from bmw dealer. kit contains 1) front spoiler, 2) rear apron, 3) fender flares, and 4) running boards. 5) door accents are separate option. part number depends if you have headlight wash system and park distance control. (look in X5 accessory catalog for details)
painting is required. i've heard issues with durability (doesnt stay on) from my dealer, but i've had no trouble. make sure you have a good installer. good luck.
I ordered the AERO kit when I ordered my new X-5 a little over a week ago. The dealer is charging me $3700 total for the kit, install, paint etc. Mine will be jet black and I'll post pictures as soon as I pick up my new X-5. 15 inches of snow here in Norhthern Wisconsin again today & I so wish I had my 5 now!!! Here's a picture out my window towards the lake after only about 4 inches of snow this morning...

or email me at djj911 at yahoo . com
I'm looking at purchasing a used 2005 X5 4.8is with only 10,000 miles on it. This aero kit might look ridiculously sweet on it...how has the durability been as far as the paint holding up over time...apparently some adherence issues?
Dude I have an 02 with 4.4. Stock kit off the dealer. I live in Mexico btw. Truck is for sale. If interested. I'm in Guadalajara. Let me post my pics. I will take more once I can.
