Just saw this story on Jalopnik about a couple of dealership employees taking pre-delivered 1M out and giving an intense test drive. I would hate to know a car I bought was driven like that before I got it....
Apparently these guys do not have to sign an agreement not to joyride with customers' cars. I suggest that all BMW dealerships require such agreements ASAP.
This isn't surprising news to me. My job is next to paragon honda in queens & you should see how some of their employees drive the civic si. There is absolutely no reason to hit 4th gear in the streets.
Chances are they were flooring it, which is something you are not supposed to do within the first 1200 miles. Hopefully they at least had it fully warmed up before doing that to the new turbos.
Looks like it's not limited to 1 dealership
My car get scratched at VPC
They saying it's just a small scratch on bumper.
But it should not take 2 weeks to repair - so I think there is more.
Brings me back to the days when I used to valet cars, we had a blast..........................25 years later, I will not valet park my car................
I watched the video, and honestly, I expected much worse.
It seems to be that the best solution is to insist upon a replacement vehicle from the dealership. I don't get this lawyer-up bit.
