The bimmer I'm work on sitting at idle, will get into the red fairly quickly. The fan does not engage at all, and is getting power thus was replaced. The Thermostat has been replaced as well. Any Suggestions
Your post is a bit unclear. Which fan does not engage at all? Which fan was replaced? Does the aux fan ever come on when overheating? The primary cooling fan is activated by the fan clutch (belt driven). That should engage or disengage depending on engine temp. It usually only operates during low speed/stop & go driving when there is insufficient airflow through the radiator. The aux fan (electric driven) only comes on when the primary fan is not moving sufficient airflow. Check your fan clutch first. Do the rolled paper test. Then check your aux fan.
