Meh, it's a personal thing really. I like that they have some contrast, but a) they are gloss black meaning they scratch so easily and b) because of the brake dust, you can almost never see the silver/gloss transition, the entire wheel turns into brown.
I much prefer the regular 19" wheels. They look a lot more classy. I dont like the black wheels, because from a distance, you cannot figure out the curves of the wheel. Whether you have a $10,000 wheel or a $1,000, it all looks the same (from a distance or while driving).

Do you mean they scratch easily, like in how regular gloss black paint scratches? I assume and would accept that they'd show "curb" scratches easier, but I would hope they use some kind of paint that doesn't "swirl" or get noticeably scuffed when not pampered. With silver wheels, I can take a wet cloth and straight up wipe it down with no four play, even if the wheel is filthy, and it'll look good as new, no visible swirl like scratches.
That's fair... makes sense. I think i like the look of the black..at least from the pictures, but not sure if it is a long-term thing. i can always plastidip, I suppose - at least that gives me two options.
I ordered the silvers...but i know want the black actually but too late; the car is black sapphire. I thought that might be a compromise. I now would prefer the black, but I'm stuck with the silver.

I ordered an M3, blue with 19" black wheels. The car gets here in 2 weeks and I'm starting to regret the black. Do you or anyone want to swap these for silver wheels?
Yas Marina Blue. Silver looks great with the color, especially with the OEM front grills with the chrome/silver surrounds. I changed surrounding grill frames to black, so I think the black/silver wheels would better go with the theme.
I actually like the silvers on the YMB... to each his/her own. I'm BSM... so i like them - the contrast, but part of me is interested in the black. Could be a phase.
Looking to sell my black 19" wheels, they only have 400 mi on them.
