I was detailing my brother in law's 2010 328i convertible and saw that the front fenders were plastic. When did they start using plastic front fenders on the 3 series? I know that the bumpers have been plastic for quite a while but never the fenders. My 2002 325i convertible did not have plastic fenders.
E92 and E93 have always had them since 2007, sedans I think still ahve steel. I think most BMW's have plastic front fenders now - the E70 X5 does for example.
All e92 and e93 BMWs, except for M3 have plastic fenders. I read it was to achieve a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. All e90s and e91s have steel fenders.
