When replacing front tension struts (control arms) on the E90, is it necessary to replace the locking nuts with new ones or is it safe to reuse the old ones? I've read Calwaterboy's DIY, which is excellent, but it doesn't say. I purchased OEM Lemfoerder arms, which don't come with nuts.
BMW says they are not reusable, I would replace to be safe (I did on mine) they have a part at the top of the nut that stretches a bit when installed and when re-used I believe they no longer properly lock and can't back off.
