I finally got off my butt and got the rear foglights working. Someone else figured it out and I just followed their guide. This involved replacing the switch with a new one, and running a wire to the FRM. Forgive the pics, iPhone :eeps:

New switch with rear fog light buttons

These are as bright as the brake lights since they use the adaptive brake lights

Close up of them on

Tonight was especially foggy, and they worked great!

+1, but that's why God invented high beams.

OP, what is the button below the rear fog button?

So that means you did NOT get runs into... As would be usual without the fogs????

LMAO Ard. I actually parked the car and walked about 300m to see if I could still see the lights, and you could :)

That would be the button to turn off the display for the HUD

IMHO rear fogs is an atavism, like a cassette deck. Modern tail lights are bright enough for pretty much any conditions; I'd even say front fogs are pretty much obsolete too, and no wonder they are used for supplementary functions like cornering lights, etc. But as long as OP uses them appropriately, not like a douche below, more power to him.

I've always thought that if I really needed rear fogs, it would be an indication I was drivng too slow....

BUT, having had some fun here, kudos for the effort. :)

I put the Euro switch on my X3. We're retired, like to travel, and have crisscrossed the USA several times (even drove from Florida to Seward, Alaska and back once). On many occasions we've found ourselves in some real "pea soup" and in these situations rear fogs have their place:

Sorry to bring this thread back. I got the euro switch for my E70 x5 rear fog lights that part works great. However. There is a dial to adjust the height of the headlights on the switch I purchased. (Same location as where blue dragons HUD off button is )Was wondering if anyone had figured out how to wire that up as well ?
