Hi guys. I am in the market for a 2013 M5 for ED. Have seen around June posts popping up about not getting any discounts for ED of M5 and coming from dealer allocation. How is the situation now in October for a Spring ED order, particularly during an oil pump recall? I was hoping like before to be able to get a 1-2k over ED deal and not sure if it is doable. Are they still coming out of dealer allocations, or has that changed? Thank you.
That is what I am looking for too.
ED invoice +$2k - incentives.
I've been told it's still possible but just not at dealers.
Have to ask around people on the forum.
At the January 2013 meeting of BMW -Munich and BMW - NA, they will see numbers are declining. If they are smart....after the recent New York Times review on the M-5, they will adjust ED pricing to invite orders...not send them to the competition.
I did a deal for ED M5, singapore gray, full silverstone, exec package for 2k under MSRP/5,500 over invoice, give or take $100. I had to negotiate hard for it though, my last deal was a ED M3 at 1k over and I do not think that was doable. At this time the initial rush is probably dwindling a little, there is the issue with the fuel pump, I think most dealers will discount some from MSRP, but perhaps not a lot until it starts coming back from euro delivery allocation, as there are some holdbacks they do not have for ED vehicles coming from dealer allocation (or a least that is what I was told). At the end I am happy, I am not going to quibble about 1-3 k more on a 90K+ car.
That's the thing though.
Many people who do early ED got the ED invoice price. Which is $76900.
That means the M5 was no longer a $90k or $100k car.
It means you can get the M5 at the same price as the cheapest 6 series or 7 series.
And that makes a difference.
After adding gas guzzler and the exec package, even with the best ED pricing you have a car in the mid 80's. Factor in the 20" wheels and you are north of 85k under the best of circumstances.
For a base M5 doing US delivery and 1k over invoice will be about 1250 for 15k miles a year. Don't bother with ED since the ED comes out of dealer allocations now it will not be the deal people got a year ago.
