Agreed. It's good looking, but cliched at the same time. These days, everybody has a sloping and curvaceous roofline, headlight jewelry, large wheels, and sculpted side panels.

And once you've gone Bangle, going back to "one sausage, three lengths" like before is just... boring.

Pity. It looks like a Buick from the front, and a Kia-ripping-off-Mercedes at the rear. The 3 series after the E46 looked like a Hyundai***8230;....BMW's losing it.

Googled around for some more pictures. Someone drew a Camry for jokes and it ended up being approved for the final design!
The pic below is purported to be an actual photograph taken in the Netherlands. That PaulTan rendering is nothing more than a photoshopped 3er. Kind of lazy on his part.

Bangle ruined BMW in the looks department back in 2001, and ever since then everything they make is pretty much ugly. I don't understand why a prestigious brand like BMW would want to look like Toyotas and Mazdas. At least they still drive well, otherwise they would be completely worthless as cars. The only new cars they make now that aren't ugly are Aston Martin, Jaguar, Lamborghini, and the Ferrari 458. It's not just that BMWs are ugly, but almost all cars are ugly since the early 2000's. The only way BMWs are going to look any good is if they hire Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker to start designing their cars.
