Hey y'all, I want to replace the original rear speakers with some 6x9 pioneers, can it be done? and how do I get the back deck out with out messing anything up:dunno:
I had my car in to great stereo shop and they told me rear seat back has to come out to get deck out. They couldn't wouldn't guaranty that there wouldn't be any squeaks or rattles after they were done. Needless to say I didn't get rear speakers put in by them. In any event, they said minimum of hour and half time to dismantle and put back together. Hope you can do it and not have squeaks or rattles.
From what I've seen, the rear seat back is pretty easy to remove. The seat bottom comes up with a hard tug from the front of the seat up. you should be able to remove it this way. Search for a DIY for the seat back removal. From there, it should be easy to remove the rear deck. I would not trust an installer that says they couldn't ensure that everything that was removed can be reassembled without any rattles or creak. They're "professional" and should be able to do this. This is why I DIY when i can. Also will save a **** load of money on labor cost alone.
Sure it might require two people to lift it out but you won't have any squeaks afterwards.
