Bleeding air out of the radiator?
I have a 94 325i. The thermostat went out and I replaces it. It is still overheating and I get no heat to come out the heater. Im am trying to bleed the air out of the radiator but must not be doing it correctly. I removed the resivor cap and bleed screw filled the resivor untill the bubbles stopped coming out of the bleeder. I put the bleed screw back in, turned the heat full blast, started the car and let it run until it went past the 3/4 mark and shut the engine down before it hit the red. Let it cool check the resivor and started it again. It does the same thing over and over again and still no heat. Should I actually take it for a drive? Or am I missing a step of the bleeding?
Thanks for you Help! Last edited by Charliewww; 07-03-2005 at 12:15 AM. |

Update. Again I started the car, let it warm up and had the bleed screw cracked. It hissed and hissed for over 5 minutes and I tightened it. Should I keep going or will it just keep hissing? How long could this take?
