6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

Doh!
That sucks. Sorry to hear about the incident. Check the archives to find a good bodyshop in your neighborhood.

The only thing i am afraid of is that the guys at the dealership don't match the color properly when they paint the parts. Stratus grey is a "hard" color too because of the pearl in it, so if they don't know what they are doing (80% chance of that) it won't match. I'll definately have to order the parts from Germany since there's no chance in hell they stock them so i'm thinking of getting them painted over there.
Yea, insurance companies sure suck around here. They would fix your car with a hammer and wires to not pay what they owe. Good thing i know some folks around here so i don't have to go trough all the insurance mess. If they get stubborn on me i can always use the old 100$ bill method witch always works in this country Well... in about 2 hours i'll be leaving to the insurance guys and dealership and find out what's what then i'll post how it went when i get back... fingerscrossed.

That's pretty bad luck alright... sorry to hear about that. At least you weren't hurt, that's the important thing... screw the 6... in a way. I've had some near misses a few times, but I was lucky enough to avoid them. These days, with the GPS that I have, I find back roads, make mental notes about road conditions, traffic, time of day, etc. And, I'll usually pick an alternate route that's safer to drive on. Ofcourse the good news is, now maybe you can throw on a Hamann aero dynamics kit while you're at it. Anbd perhaps sneak it past the insurance company?

Hehe, no chance in hell they would do that. Maybe if i take a bat and do the front bumper and rear myself and slip them around 1k or so... I like it stock more then Hammanized anyway.

Settled it. They will replace everything including wheels and tires except for the rear fender witch i didn't want replaced (they have to "cut" it from the body then weld the new one witch would ruin the line of the car IMO + it's easy to straighten it...), sideskirt, mirror and rear bumper (witch all have tiny scratches). All in all it went great. Parts arrive next tuesday and i'm bringing the car in on monday so it should all be over with by friday, next week i think. All i hope is that they match the damn colour properly.

And start using back roads like I do, and make note of how many stupid people on the road and at what times. |
