Lightbulb Alpina B10 BiTurbo

Hello everyone, I purchased a 535i a few months ago and I have been a visitor to the fest but never registered until today. And I have quite a few questions.

What internal parts of the engine I must replace in order to replicate the dual turbos of the B10? Will a remanufactured GeTrag 290 be apropiate to make the auto --> manual conversion, since the GeTrag is the transmission used in the B10? Where will I be able to find a chip that has the fuel map for the dual turbos?

For all those who don't know what an Alpine is here it is:



I appreciate all your help before hand.

P.S. The reason for all this was because I was researching the rules to race stock in BMWCCA and somehow I stumbled upon that website and I decided I want to build a replica, hell, I got the Chassis, engine and diff. I just need the Turbos which are Garrets T25 so about 600 a piece, the tranny I'm guessing, not sure around 700 since it is old, intercoolers and all the other related stuff, and I have all ready ordered the emblems

dont just bolt on turbos

in the turbo blocks you will find that the heads are heat treated and valvs cold be sodium filled along with the pistons and block have different grades ,they can differ between engins ,so be ceafull there my young jedi.

Well I guess I need more guidance master. i found out that alpina doesn't sell any mechanical parts for non alpinas so I have to dig around for parts and make sure my engine can handle it

Turbo

If you dont use the incorrect grades and bores you are in big trouble ,i know this because i have done this myself ,not on a bmw but still all the same, what will happen is your rings will cook and they will loose all there spring ,then step by step it goes down the line, all turbo engines are heat treated , your bonnet will be up so much your engine will have a sun tan, take this advise my youg jedi ,look deep inside yourself , i'm sure you will make the right choice.

then again if you use the turbos ,only run them at a really low boost ,about 4-6 psi AND INTERCOOLER!! keep it cool maaaan!!

oh of course, alpina runs at 6psi thats what i intend to run and i am even getting a tranny cooler so you can stick a soda in the engine compartment to get it cold

For some reason Im thinking you wont be able to race a turbo'd 535 in CCA stock. More like the unlimited class where Turbos are set for kill.

Keep it stock and start training the driver through various schools. Those mods will last a lifetime.
