2006 750 phone number voice activation

A sales person told me that the new software will allow you to dial directly names from your phone, "call John" and it will without programming the name into the address book, directly from the phone's memory.
I recently got my software updated and this feature is not working.....
does anyone know of a way to find out which software one has?

When you say "options" does the voice list "call" as one of your choices?

What phone are you using? This feature has been working for almost a year. I doubt your software needs upgraded.

I believe from the phone, you can do this but not from the car.

The saleman probably confused between the voice dialing in the 5 and the 7. In the 5, you can dial by name without programing I believe.

Yes, from the phone (RAZR) I can do it, buth the sales peson said that the latest software update can now do it from the car.
He also said that the 5 series comfort seats are exactly same seat as the 7, and he was wrong.... he is not a new guy, perhaps he does not sell 7s often.
