Winter Storage?

Do you plan to store your Z4 during the winter months (assuming you see snow)?

Yes AND no...

I'll drive the 99 all winter fitted with its hardtop and snowtires (it's a salt covered mess in the garage tonight()

But the 01 will be kept in the garage for the duration of the bad weather.

My wife will be high and dry in the X5 (wish we had a pair of them too).

On what I need to do that day. Here in the Pacific NW, I can use my M Roadster as daily transport because we so rarely see snow here near sea level. My car choices are more driven by what I have to do each day.

If I'm driving carpool, then I either take the Audi (A6 2.7T) or the 1990 VW Van (depends on which one Diane, my wife, wants/needs).

If I'm hauling stuff, then the 1991 F250 gets the nod (as it did when I helped my son haul all his worldly possessions, including a 1988 535is, from Seattle to Worcester, Mass). . . . or if we're going skiing then the extended cab has room and the covered bed is a really easy place to put all the skis, snowboards, boots, poles etc and the 4WD with low range transfer case and winter tires can keep us out of most trouble.

If it's only me that needs carting around, then the Roadster gets the nod every time. I bought it to enjoy it and I enjoy driving it ALOT.

Based on the snow cycle in CT and the predictions, my coupe is grounded. Good time to remove the front bumper and front fenders to fill in the holes, plus some other things. If the cycle changes, I'm out driving.

Our E46 M3 and M Roadster will be driven when weather permits.

Yes: M Coupe is up on blocks and covered in the garage
No: 2.8 is getting stuck if it's deeper than 7":

I am fortunate enough to have a car that can take the beating. The MC sits in the garage, nice and clean (though a bit dusty). Unfortunately, it also hasn't moved in two weeks while waiting for the roads to dry up. I'm thinking about taking it out for a spin tonight since the roads are dry and there's far less debris on the road than before.
