any martial artists here?

curious how many here train or have trained in the MA?

I've trained Bimmerfest Hijacking Arts, does that count ?

I did judo for a year. I wish I had the time and moola to get back into it. It's in the cards for the future, definitely.

Free-style Karate back in the early to mid 80's for about 6 months, use to get my butt handed to me consistently with the pads on, but hey, I was 150 lbs soaking wet back then.

I train Brazilian jiu jitsu 4 times / week. Both gi and no gi. I also wrestled for 8 years.

Depends...how do you define "Martial Arts"?
Boxing is a Martial Art...so is any combat technique taught by the military.

I'm guessing you mean one of the Asian Marital arts

I am an assistant instructor at our Judo club. I also trained in TKD, Arnis, and kickboxing. Basically, I wake up every morning feeling my collection of injuries from abusing my body for 20+ years.

lets see I am currently treating a torn right thumb ligament, impingment syndrome in my left shoulder and I am getting laser treatment for a terrible plantar wart.
I really feel old, and I am only 29.
However, I havwe never been stronger, more flexible in my enire life. Its a shame we can't all be born 100 years old and get younger every year.

I have a First Dan Black Belt in Karate. I got it back when I lived in Hong Kong. For my final black belt test, I had to spar with the lead instructor of all the Dojos in Hong Kong, who was a third dan black belt. I got whopped of course, but I managed to score two punches and a kick. The panel thought that was impressive enough to award the black belt.

Well, Van Dork is in better shape, but SeaGull is fatter. I suppose SeaGull can just fall on Van Dork and crush him.

believe it or not this question comes up all the time on my MA boards.
About 10 years ago VD challenged Segal. VD was a kick boxer, nothing more, nothing less. Segal is a 7th Dan in Akido and is the highest ranking American. So you tell me who would win

Despite his claims, VD is not and never was a kickboxer. He trained in Shotokan Karate in Brussels. Segal is a 7th dan in Humbo (Aikikai?) Aikido. He is not and never was the highest ranked Aikidoka in the US. There are several 8th and 9th dan Aikdoka in Humbo, Yushinkai, and other Aikido branches across the US and Canada.

As for VD, he says himself he was a kickboxer. I'll find the interview and post it.
