THE FOLLOWING IS AS OF TUESDAY 4.22.08 Okay, so i've been getting various PM's from various forums regarding the locations to the caravans and the times. I set up a chat with all the leaders and decided to make life easier and post a master thread concerning the above issues. Here are the final plans for this year's bimmerfest caravans:

SAN DIEGO =
The San Diego Portion of the caravan will be the same from last year, at the UTC shopping center located at:

The Inland Empire portion of the caravan will meet at the Sam's Club parking lot behind Arby's on Milikenontario, ca located at:

***each location has posted threads for each individual location with detailed maps on how to get to their respective locations. this thread is to clarify on what the final plan is as of 4/22/08. please feel free to mapquest/google/yahoo/etc maps on your personal preference on how to get to the above locations, the caravan leaders will take care of the rest. we will each have a decal on our front windshield that will say _______ caravan leader. so pretty much follow that guy and all will be okay. lets keep it organized on the freeway and obey the speedlimits just all us from california and the WESTCOAST always do. and remember that we do this once a year and go all out once a year, so lets get as much cars on the freeways as we can, here's where your time being a part of this worldwide BMW community comes into play. old/new/modded or stock....lets make it count.***REMEMBER $20 AT THE GATE AFTER 9AM, WHICH IS WHEN DOORS OPEN. $40 BUCKS IF YOU WANT IN SOONER.

Ummm...am I missing something? How does the Orange County caravan leave at 645am and get to LA at 7am for that caravan?

hey im heading the OC caravan, maybe we will just drive really fast... no im just playin, where gonna keep it safe and fun and im a find out for sure and let you know, PM me your name and number...

slack time my friend....if people are ready to leave by 7 then that means people will show up ON TIME....we've had problems with people showing up late and missing the caravan every single year...so this year we've taken out the time to give you some slack time knowing that OC/SD will probably not be right on time, but we'd like you to be just in case things go perfectly...unfortunatley i cannot control the weather/traffic/other obstacles that might get in the way....if people know we're leaving at 7... then they'll show up at 705...and if they get there at 705 rather than 7...then thats okay becuase realistically we're (LA) not leaving til about 715-725 when oc/sd actually get there...in other words....be there by showtime and have fun....and this all works out because.....bimmerfest doors open at 9AM, see you all at bimmerfest, if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask

heres how it goes....

1.san diego to exit and meet orange county at meet point then get back on freeway

2.inland empire to exit and meet los angeles at meet point

3.when oc/sd is within 10 miles of 405/101 junction then la/ie will get on freeway awaiting out call, yes we will be going slow at this time to make the merge smoothly...we might have to turn on our hazards on for a minute or two until caravans merge....

Yeah. With anything this big and involving this many people, there are bound to be some problems. So everyone will need to be on their toes and ready to readjust to changing situations, but that'll also be pretty exciting.

The main thing we want is for everyone to be on time and follow the law. Missing the caravan and getting tickets/arrested would be mighty crappy.

If we all work together, it'll be fine.

I would have to agree with what was said, we are all here to have a great time and to iether show off there rides or just go check out what others have done...

this year during the caravan, lets all have a goal of getting there safe with no tickets or any type of law enforcemnt involvment....

I like Harley's Idea of turning the hazards on when getting closer to the LA meet point that wa y we can slow to a comfortable speed while allowing the LA caravan to merge..

it would be a good idea, or just gather all leaders numbers and put em on a speed dial..whatever works

well the reason i said radio is so that everyone who brings a radio can keep it on to say channel 8. Since most radios have a radious of about 1mile+ people from the back can inform people up front that a chp etc is heading our way. just a thought.

this just in (4/23/08), we have the guys from e90post.com also joining in...they will be meeting and driving to the Los Angles meet point at ROSS, where they will wait for my guys from orange county/san diego. when we drive up from los angeles there will be yet another caravan further west on the 101 that will be joining us as well on the freeway. here are both address' and the links to the meet points.
