Is it possible to add factory nivigation to a 2007-2008 x5?

Yes it is but it is cost prohibitive. It's been discussed a few times and the conclusion is it's much cheaper to buy a portable Garmin or Tom Tom and use that than and an OEM one.

For the price, you're better off going aftermarker like I did. I just installed an AVIC F90BT w/ a steering wheel controls adapter and everything, took me a couple of days. Now I have perfect integration, my steering wheel still works, I can watch movies, SD cards and have navigation for $600.

His AVIC install was much more extensive since he's replaced every speaker. Mine was much simpler, running a few wires (mic, GPS antenna, PAC steering wheel controller, relocated the OBC to the glovebox) and using a plug and play adapter to mate up to the factory harness. If I hadn't screwed around, watched DVD's while "testing" the unit

As long as your dash looks like this http://l.yimg.com/dv/izp/bmw_x5_3.0s..._dashboard.jpg instead of this http://l.yimg.com/dv/izp/bmw_x5_4.8i..._dashboard.jpg, I don't see why you couldn't. That 3.0 pic is the perfect size for a double DIN deck. I should have paid more attention as well since your screen is the OBC as well. I realize that a lot of things run through the screen, but I guess that's your trade off. I relocated my OBC to the glovebox, but that'd be much harder for you based on the size of yours.
I've also seen these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-G...fAudioQ5fVideo, a dash mounted screen which the X3 and Z4. I don't know how hard it would be to intergrate, but I'd imagine it's not as easy as an aftermarket unit like I used.
