Simple Turn the ignition switch to position two (2). Connect the clip end of the jumper tool to a good ground in the area of the data link connector. Connect the pin end of the jumper tool to pin seven (7) of the data link connector and remove it after the appropriate time, depending on which reset you are doing. Replace the data link connector cap and turn off the ignition switch. Check to see if the reset worked by starting the car and seeing if the lights go out. If they do, good job!" 10 secs should do it Last edited by z3-o1; 11-10-2010 at 01:46 AM. |

thanks again: this time the system had also blocked the starter, but your method sorted it in 10 seconds; 1996, 1.9.M44

I'm a bit confused, and therefore have to start by apologizing. What to you connect? A wire? What's a jumper tool? Is this like my jumper cable? This is a really good trick and I would really like to know how it's done. Thanks in advance for clarifying. |

Or you can buy a "tool": http://www.ebay.com/itm/120830233463...84.m1497.l2649 The tool means you don't have to use the wire for the right two lengths of time. Like, if you want to rest just the oil, and use the wire too long, you will reset the whole service interval. The tool has a button for each (and evidently a time chip).
