Even in Lagos there has to be some sort of warranty service. It needs to go back to the dealer and let them fix it. If you try to repair it on your own it might void whatever warranty you have.

I always wonder about people who just say "it won't start," without saying whether or not the starter is actually turning the engine over. That is the second most important question, following "does anything light up?" The third question is "do you hear any clicks or 'buzzing" sounds?"

Our dealer told us if sat for more than a week it would drain the battery to the point it might not start. Has to do with all the electronics on the vehicle. Even if the battery turns the engine it might not be fast enough to allow it to start, sensors.

If true, that's incredibly pathetic. But, I don't think it is(normal). If you start to run into those issues I'll bet it has to do with abnormal parasitic current drain that needs to be diagnosed and repaired.

My 2004 Lincoln Navigator would drain the battery to the point it may not start after a week. They have not installed larger batteries over the years but the vehicles have a lot more electrical gadgets that drain the battery. It makes sense to some point, I am not sure why they do not put 2 batteries in vehicles like my 1976 Ford pickup, 1 for starting, 1 for accessories. Always would start!

Granted there's a lot more electronics on cars these days but, they also have fail safe mechanisms built in to prevent draining the battery to the point where you can no longer start the vehicle. A malfunctioning component can prevent this fail safe from working correctly and lead to a dead battery. The most common causes I've seen posted here involve communications units such as the Bluetooth module or BMW Assist system. A properly functioning system has no trouble starting the vehicle even after it sits for 30 days or more. Extreme temperatures excluded, of course.

Put some gas in it. Seriously.

Add to the list of things that you should check, and that will make you feel really, really stupid if they're true:
Are you sure you have the transmission in P or N and your foot on the brake?

Reminds me of a recent Chicago story: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/01/...g-ex-nba-star/ "One man came back and asked for the keys to his Mercedes CL550. He returned yet again because “he didn’t know how to start the car, so he asked me how to start the car,” Walker said." I guess the overly complicated starting processes on vehicles nowadays might offer some theft protection, unlike the old "turn the key and go" system!
