2012 X5 Pricing and changes released...

BMW finally released the equipment and pricing changes for the 2012 X5's, change effective April 1st.

More juggling than I expected!

A couple of things that immediately caught my eye...

• LED Corona lights on all models.
• HiFi Audio on all models. Premium sound still an option.
• Tech packages reconfigured.
• Leather now available on base 35i.
• Most convenience package items standard (with price increase).
• 35d becomes 2012 as well, contrary to some earlier speculation.
• No 40d or 8-speed diesel announced.

Really? I had the exact opposite reaction. What config did you order??

Actually, looking closer, I guess if you bought a 2011 diesel in vinyl you might be behind...

MSRP:$66625

There is no price for sport for 2012 and it looks like i would have had couple more options for same price

Oh well...

I am in the process of ordering an X5 and last night the dealer showed me some of the spec & price for the 2012. Unfortunately, he didn't have the all info yet. It looks like they will come with a lot more features as standard but the base prices will be higher. Yet it looks like the 2012 maybe cheaper if looking for an X5 with more features than the base 2011.

Does any one has more info on packages and options pricing? Also will the eco credit on the diesel be extended to the MY2012?

Before I go and hurt someone or cancel my order, did you happen to get a copy of this information. Also, what do you mean by HiFi Audio on all models, premium sound now an option. Hasn't the premium sound always been an option. Also, did you happen to see how much of a price increase for the 35d?

you can refuse delivery and re-order if need be.

I think the 2012 sweet spot for a value-oriented X5 is the 35i base as you can now order leather on it. That was a big turn-off before...

35i base with pano roof, leather and navigation, hi-fi sound, wood trim, bluetooth, BMW assist, full MSRP I'm guessing will be $54,200 with delivery. Invoice (educated guess) $50,400.

Every bell and whistle? Certainly not... but definitely a nice price for a pretty well equipped X5!

To be honest with you, I am glad my salesman was wrong. Looks like if you ordered a 35i or 35d with all the options, you actually might get more for your money at relatively the same price.

Salesman wasn't wrong, 35d isin't coming until September

I'm confused now and not sure what is the better option. I put a $1000 deposit to order the 2011 35d. I added the following:

Premium package
Technology package
Rear climate package
iPod/USB adapter
Space saver spare

Dealer wanted MSRP for it and only knocked off $500. If I go forward with this, I get the eco credit of $3500.

Is it actually better now to cancel and order a 2012? Seems like the more features are standard (like many have said here). BUT, what about the eco credit??? And what exactly changed about the headlights? Sorry, I don't know much about headlights.

What's a better deal in the end? Ordering the 2011 with eco credit, or waiting for the 2012? Price may be a little cheaper, but no eco credit as of now. Help!

MSRP minus $500 is a profoundly bad deal, above and beyond the plus/minus of moving to a 2012.

No idea about the eco-credit continuing, but conventional wisdom is that BMW offers the eco-credit to move diesels and keep there CAFE up. Seeing as they didn't upgrade the diesel engine or transmission, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them continue the program.

Are you sure your calculating this correctly?

For the 35d, it looks like:

• Base price goes up +$4,500.
• Premium package goes up +$100, but now includes navigation, cameras, park assist and comfort access.
• Everything in the 2011 Technology Package is now included if you get the 2012 Premium package. -$2,800
• Comfort Access also included in premium -$1,000
• Roof rails included in base -$100
• iPod/USB adapter included in base -$400
• Cold weather package goes down -$150 AND now includes rear seat heat.

So on a 2012 35d equipped with everything you have on your 2011, it seems like it comes out only +$150, and you will have additional features including LED angel eyes, privacy glass, heated rear seats, and a better stereo.

Worth giving up the Eco-credit? Perhaps not, but personally I don't think that is going away...

Possible, yes, but zero reason to suspect that BMW will eliminate the eco-credit. Same exact reason why I didn't believe they would hold off on 2012 X5 diesels until the Fall when introducing gas X5's to 2012's in April. They need to sell diesels to keep their CAFE up!

The credit dropped from $4,500 to $3,500 some months ago. At most, I suspect they might drop it a bit more, but honestly without the 8-speed or 40d introduced with the 2012 models, I think they will keep it right where it is for a while!

Now I'm debating waiting for a 2012. I put a deposit down to order a 2011 this past weekend. I got some emails from other dealerships offering me a better price. Now I'm thinking of going to that otherdealership that is offering me a better deal than the one I got. How do I know for sure if the $1000 is fully refundable? Also, I did a trade in at the dealership that I put the $1000 deposit down. If I cancel my order, is the trade in deal a done deal, or can they stick the car back on me?

The break date of April 1 moving to MY 2012 will have nothing to do with Diesels or Petrols. That's just when BMW switch over.

what about the 35i does that get the 8 speed trannie ???
