Official Western Chester County, Lancaster, and York Caravan

For those of us located in Western Chester county, Lanaster, and York, let this be our offical Caravan Thread.

We will meet at the Walmart on Lincoln Hwy in Lancaster (right off Rt. 30) at 7:45am and leave Walmart at 8:00am. I was thinking about taking Route 222 South to Rt 1 to Rt. 161 (sound familiar Tom).

The Nittany Bimmer Chapter is not sponsoring an offical drive, so this will be our "official caravan" down to Bimmerfest.

Please respond to this thread if you will be meeting us at Walmart for the drive down. Respond with what you will be driving:

I take it you'll be joining us in the Z? You didn't read the instructions above...

Ill be tagging along. if its a nice day out, ill have my bimmer. if not it will be one of my other rides

count me and my nephew in. I will be in a e46 m3 and he has a e36. Did anyone post this on any other forums?

I've got a feeling we'll be in overflow parking by 11AM based on the responses....from looking at the parking lot of Ripken Stadium on G-Earth, I doesn't appear to have parking for more than ~1100 cars.

I agree, and in 2 years, Bimmerfest East will be held elsewhere because of the popularity its going to have.

Count me in! I sadly can't attend, but since I have to drive to the same area I will definitely caravan. I'll be in a e46 325i TiAg

I used to live on Penn Ave. like a block from The Works. I live in Mohnton now, just a few minutes out past Shillington. Where abouts are you? Maybe we can meet up in the morning for the drive to Lancaster.

The BMW CCA Club President has asked me to put the drive to the event on the club event roster. I'll get an email out to the membership and I'll lead the drive. More later tonight.

BTW, I'm about to ink a deal on a 2011 Z435is this afternoon. I guess now I'll be in a Silver Z

I will not only give you 100% of the credit I will allow you to lead. If more than 15 cars show we'll need 2 leaders, otherwise you can lead if you like. Everyone needs to bring radio's so we can talk. 10 channel ones are OK. TomC

Here is a copy of the info I sent to the Nittany Bimmers regarding this Saturday's drive. The reason for the radios (for those of you who have not driven on an organized drive) is to communicate a number of road conditions, turns, stops, & general Info.

Bimmerfest East 2011

When: Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Where: Ripken Stadium, 873 Long Drive, Aberdeen, MD 21001

The Nittany Bimmers will conduct a drive to this event. It is not a BMW CCA sponsored event, but it is a club function. I will be conducting a drive to this event this Saturday, August 6, 2011.

I have included the basic information for those who wish to attend this event. Click on the website shown above or Google "Bimmerfest East 2011". There will be an organized drive to the event
Registration on line is free and parking will be $20 cash when you enter.
Bimmerfest East 2011 opens at 10:00 AM and runs until 3:00 PM. All BMWs are part of the show with parking costing $20 per car -- no cost for your passengers! There will be a single entrance to the show and you will be entering on Long Drive. Please help keep traffic moving and have a twenty dollar bill ($20) handy to give to the parking staff.

You do not need to respond to me if you plan to attend unless you feel like it. I'd urge you to get there in the morning to see all the nice vehicles and talk to some of the interesting vendors.
