Getrag 265/6 is best bet. Do you have your trans integral with the bellhousing or do they seperate??

Let me tell you what happend the car was running great then the other day I was driving home and I lost the clutch pedel and I had no choice but to force it out of gear. I pulled over and had the car towed home. I replaced both clutch slave and the lines that run between them. After bleeding the system. The clutch pedel came back but the car won't go into 1st or reverse but it can be driven in the rest of the gears. Is it possible that I messed up the shifting linkage or did I break something inside?
I found out that the 83 - 84 533i 633i 733i all had enterchangable tranys Last edited by coolcars; 10-16-2011 at 01:24 PM. |

Can't speak for inside of the trans, but you can certainly get underneath and see if anything has come loose on the mechanism and it's mountings.

went to a pick and pull junk yard 50 miles from my home and what did I find but a black on black 84 633csi 5 speed It broke my heart to see the car there in that condition chrome mirrors strait body black leather intior in good condition. after 4 hours the trany was in the back of my truck and my wallet was only down by $100, I'll let you know in a couple days how things worked out.....................before I went out and bought a trany I did check the linkage and everthing looked normal.

Anytime you can accomplish a major repair for a hundred bucks or so, you should be congratulated!
