Ordering Storage Compartment
When ordering the storage compartment, any idea if you can just order the tray or if you also need the shelves?

Mine came with the three shelves [Part # 2], as i already had the pass-through storage option.

I'm also interested in the Storage Package compartment/shelves for my Z4. It has the pass-through storage option.
Have you ordered parts and upgraded yours yet?

If your cars came with the pass through loading for ski's then you should have the other fitments as part of the kit. I removed my ski kit and used the available kit to put the shelves back in, needed this type of storage as I don't ski.......without the shelves it is just a big hole...plus you also need a new back panel in the boot/trunk...

Funny...mine came with the pass-thru (with the bag for skis installed), and the storage compartment but only with one shelf. I didn't know there was supposed to be three.
I don't want to hijack the thread but it also had some sort of slightly curved plastic thing in the trunk that I can't figure out what it's for. Anyone have any idea what this is for? Thanks. |

Looks like the front license plate mount.

Ah. Thank you.
That didn't even cross my mind. Nevada doesn't require a front plate if the car doesn't come with a mount from the factory, so I don't have a front plate installed.

So... back to my original question, has anyone ordered and installed the Storage Compartment Package kit/parts, etc?

Perhaps you should just go to your local BMW dealer parts department and ask!!!

My order should be here in a couple of weeks (coming from Germany) so will report back at that time.

As I mentioned previously, my 2012 35i was equipped with the Pass Through Loading system and I wanted to obtain the Storage Compartment shelf gizmo to install in its place.
Well today Riverside BMW called to tell me that my special order parts were in (they took 11 days to get here from Germany). Based on what I had been told by several BMW parts guys previously, I had ordered the oddments tray and three shelves. Today when I picked up my parts, I found that you only have to order the "Oddments Tray" BMW P/N 52-20-9-181-610. This part comes with the snap in vertical bulkhead and a set of three shelves. My total cost was $62.95 for the Oddments Tray. I didn't need the extra shelves and was not charged for them.
