Do I need insurance for Michelin Primacys?
Just took delivery of my '12 535i m sport and only just noticed that I don't have the notorious Good year RFT on. I took wheel/tire insurance but now I'm wondering whether I should cancel it.

I don't know. But I have not heard bubbling complaints here about the Primacies

I have the same tires and passed on the insurance. Didn't see the $1500 expense paying off. So far (5500 miles in) so good.

I paid way less than $1000. The second flat tire will break it even for my investment on the insurance plan. It's just a piece of mind. Btw, I've heard that the OEM wheel is very soft that may be susceptible for damage due to bad road.

How did you get such a low price my dealer charged $1645 and said because it's from BMW it's non negotiable.

It's a third party insurance plan offered by my dealer. I can have wheel and tire service at any authorized provider nationwide using. I am not sure what is the advantage of BMW protection plan over a reputable third party provider. My last insurance claim to replace a tire was extremely smooth.

Sadly, the OEM wheels are way too heavy and way too weak. That is because BMW cheaped out and used cast rather than forged wheels.

Who uses forged wheels? Audi, Cadillac, Benz, Lexus? Aren't cast wheels the automotive industry standard?
