x6 fuel economy at 80 mph

hi all. I am interested to know if anyone can share their fuel economy numbers for x6 3.5 and also for x6 5.0 models on the freeway at around 80mph. I do a lot of freeway driving daily and am considering an x6. (I had an x5 diesel and got 22.8 mpg at that speed which was a little disappointing) thanks for your help Mark

2012 5.0 x6 and have been traveling latly..Only getting at best 18mpg. Note that is wihtout wanting to enjoy the sound when passing!

Woa...18 mpg doesn't sound bad considering that I barely get 23/24 in the 328xi. Can't wait to snatch an X6...fuel economy and SAV haters be damned!

I agree. My 2012 X6 5.0 gets around 18mpg at those speeds. I wouldn't trade it for a Prius.

Today I drove my 2013 x6 50i (gasoline) 307 miles highway with avg speed of 78 mph and trip computer stat for mileage was 21.2 mpg. I was surprised as had heard what a gas hog this engine was. There were towns interspersed along the trip as well so close to 22 mpg could have been possible if only highway.
My city driving is 16.6 mpg.

I must add that the vehicle is still in break in and mileage will be dropping after that.

X6 50i with Velos tune - I get just over 21 mpg at that speed.

I drive my X6 35i every day to work on the Florida turnpike (pretty flat and straight). I set the cruise at 79 and drive 40 miles with two miles of city driving to and from the highway. I have to slow once for a toll and clover leaf overpass. I get about 21 mpg consistently. On the weekends, combined driving to soccer games and such, I get 18 or so. When I drop of the wife and daughter to get myself a starbucks, I get less because I am in SPORT mode!!!

With my x5 5.0 I get a consistent 20.5 mpg at 80mph

City looks like 10 mpg in my area with very heavy stop sign intersections, every 1/4 miles or so

The 8 speed gearbox really pull impressive highway mpg... On the downside it sucks in the city.. Shifting constantly

I took a 1.5 hr drive with my girlfriend this past weekend in my x6 50i and was going 78-83 averaging over 20mpg. Amazing.
