iphone 4 cradle

Can anyone share your opinion of the iPhone cradle. Is it worth installing, quality of the sound etc. I have an 08 m3 vert and thinking about having it installed.

Thanks for your time and input.

I have avoided it as I do not want to snap the phone in each time I get in the car. With a case on the phone, it is even more time consuming. With BT music streaming and many BMW Apps functioning through the USB cable, it is less necessary unless doing video out.

I have the cradle and I find that it works great. I use the bumper case on my iPhone and so it's easy to remove when installing the iPhone on the cradle. With the cradle I get a better signal strength since it uses the car's antennas for support, plus it charges the phone and it allows me to use all my music from it automatically. I find the sound quality better when using the cradle. I did a test with and without the cradle while talking to my wife and she said the quality was so much better. She wouldn't have known I was in a car driving while the phone was in the cradle. But...the cradle is expensive and we shouldn't even be on the phone while driving, so is it worth it?...Probably not, since when a new iPhone comes out, we'll need a new cradle and BMW is pretty slow getting them out.

So about the only benefits are a better signal strength and better sound quality at the listener's end. Oh, one disadvantage for me is that I plug the iPhone into the cradle, get to my destination, and forget it in the car since it's usually in my pocket. On short trips around town, I don't even bother plugging the phone into the cradle. I'm just one of those guys who has to have all the gadgets. My '09 M3 Coupe has every option yet there a few options that I've never used...like the headlight washers...I just had to have all the bells and whistles...he he.

Thank you for your information and your opinion which I truly appreciate. It's qualified opinions I was seeking and both responders delivered exactly that. I think I am going to pass on buying the cradle unless I spend more time in my car. I work in the city and spend little time in my car and more on the train.

Best regards
