2005 525i power seats not working
Hi all,
I searched the forums and couldn't find anything relevant for a 2005 525i. I reclined the passenger seat to transport a large item, and now the seat's control buttons don't work (it's as if the seat doesn't have any power). The driver's side seat controls also no longer work, and neither does the steering wheel adjustment lever. From some initial research, it seems as it might be the seat control module. Am I on the right track? I'd like to check for a blown fuse, but I no longer have the fusebox diagram - so I don't know which one to check. Can anyone help me with: 1) which fuse to check 2) where should I check for any loose wiring/broken harnesses/etc. - under the passenger or driver's seat? 3) does this sound like a seat control module issue? If so, how much am I looking at for parts and labor? 4) is there a way for me to manually raise the passenger seat back to a normal position? Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! - Robert Last edited by rlocke; 03-10-2012 at 08:47 PM. |

Same issue
I have this same issue on my 2005 E60, did you figure out what caused it?
Thanks MHK |

Initially, it was one of the fuses that kept getting blown (FYI - the fuse panel is in the trunk, in the emergency first aid compartment); I'd replace the fuse, and if the ignition was in the accessory position, I could adjust the seat and steering wheel w/o any issues, but as soon as I turned the car on, the fuse would get blown.
Also, this fuse also controlled DTC, so that wasn't functioning either. I finally took it into my 3rd party mechanic, and they fixed it - ended up costing $100. I don't have the invoice with me, so I can't recall the exact diagnosis/fix. |

I checked my fuses, and they all seem to be fine. If you find what was replaced or fixed, I would be interested in knowing what else could be causing it.
Thanks for the reply. |
