E82 / E87 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by a naturaly aspirated inline 6 in the 128 or the turbo twin power inline 6 rocket sled 135.

Cannot Change iDrive Language

I'm currently driving a German-market 116i and I cannot change the screen language to English. The option is there under the settings, but it will not hold the selection. I press the knob down to select it and the check mark remains next to Deutsch. It is the same for all other settings, including temperature, distance, and fuel economy. Any ideas?

Cannot keep language change in iDrive

I have exactly the same situation with a 2006 550i just acquired. Although the system offers a selection of English, French and Spanish, it cannot hold a change and always come back to Spanish after the car stays off for a while, usually overnight. Any help would be much appreciated.
