Do I have DCT?

Hello. I drive a 2008 335i with sport package and one of my friends was telling me about his 2009 335i that has DCT and launch control. I was wondering if my car had it also. I know they made it in 09 but I'm not sure about 08. All I want to know is if I have DCT or not.

if you ticked that option when you bought it, then you got it...

So just to clarify this, that option was available in 2008 and isn't something new

no. and unless he has a 335is, he doesnt have it either. the 335is debuted MY 2011.

a 2009 has the same auto transmission as you do.

Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) was available in 2009 on the M3 only. It is now also available only on the Z4 or 335is, or 135. If your friend doesn't have an M3, 135, or a 335is, he does not have a DCT.

Now, you both have DTC (Dynamic Traction Control). But that's entirely different.

I remember reading about launch control, but don't know when/if it was offered.

Agree, DCT NOT and Has never been available on 335i....only on 335is, Z4, 135....

IIRC, Launch Control is only available on the DCT, not the OP's Steptronic tranny.
