94 740iL - Should I trade?
There's a 94 740il that Is on craigslist for 1200. They were putting in a new motor but never finished it. It looks like it has nice paint. Has very clean interior. I have a 92 735i and I just got it up and running with new oil, plugs, filter, cap an rotor. What do you guys think?

Considering you have a well running car and that is a car with an incomplete motor swap I would hold on to your current car and pass on the trade. You never know what short cuts where started during the motor swap, it could end up being a nightmare to finish.

Keep your car. If you want the car pay cash and beat him down to 900 or 1000 and if things work out sell your car and your ahead.

The 94 740s remind me of the movie "The Money Pit". I have owned and maintained one for the last 14 years, and for the last 5-6 years I have been averaging at least $3k per year in repairs and maintenance. It has become the car my teenagers learn to drive car, and their get around town car till they head off to college, at which time I buy them something sensible. My point is that while I love the car, I would never get one that old regardless of how well it has been maintained. At that age they just seem to always need something. But it still drives well!
