Auto trans shifting hard
Hi, my 97 M3 just started shifting hard its really bad if you are at a complete stop and hit the gas 1st gear makes a loud clunk , its not quite as bad when the car is moving shifting from 2nd to 3rd and so on. My car never came with a owners manual so im not shure how hard it will be to change tranny fluid and filter. Any advice or insite would be great thanks.

I would start by checking the transmission fluid level, often if they get low on fluid hard shifts begin to occur.
The E36 M3 auto is similar to many other BMW automatic transmissions. HERE is a link to a DIY video we made using an automatic E39 that you could use as a general guide. As for the parts needed I have service kits available for the automatic E36 M3 HERE.
