Opening Trunk with Battery Disconnected

My BMW-325I has a probable dead battery. I tried to remove same, but needed pointers on how to proceed. I went to the internet and found instructions for removing the battery. With the battery partially disconnected, I closed the trunk. Now I cannot open the trunk to continue removing the battery. Any suggestions on how to open the trunk with the battery partially disconnected?

Do you have fold down rear seat or ski pass through? if former, fold down and crawl in, pull the emergency release if you have it... If only ski pass, maybe reach through with a coat hanger or a stick of some sort and pull the emergency handle... final option, not sure if it would work... Connect a battery to your jumper posts in engine compartment, may power the trunk release button... Not sure but might be worth a shot!

Is there a keyhole under the trunk lid ledge above the license plate?

Remove the key from your key control and use it to open the trunk.

Read your owners manual for more info

Doh! I should have thought of that instead of my elaborate ideas... That's what I did on my E46 when the power wire to the lock broke... Hopefully the OP waited for your suggestions instead of taking mine! Sorry OP!

When my battery died....even the key in the trunk unlock keyhole did not work as even when you use the key it actuates electrically.

When I tried to get a jump.....once I connected the jumper cables under the hood I was able to open the trunk via the key fob\under dash button or the trunk handle itself. (my car neither has the fold down seat nor the ski pass-thru option)

Hidden Key

Easy solution. I did not know about the hidden key in the fob. The trunk is open and the battery is replaced. Thanks.

....
That won't work on 2011 335i. There is no key slot in the trunk.
