An x7 would be a good idea?

I have been thinking about a x7 model

BMW was too when they owned Land Rover.

The story I read was that a combination engineering group designed the X5 and the L322 Range Rover side by side with the intent of offering the Range Rover design to fill the X7 niche regardless of what it was named.
But the mounting losses brought on the sale of Land Rover/Jaguar to Ford before the new model was produced. That led to Ford buying BMW engines and running gear from 2003 until 2006 before the Range Rover was finally converted to Jaguar engines.
