Been reading posts here for days

I've driven Honda's, Toyota's, Infiniti's, Lexuses, etc for all of my 40 years. I'm in a Lexus GS430 now - previous was an '05 Infinit G35 couple. The GS is a good car, and the 4.3 sounds pretty decent when the foot is down, but I just need something with some excitement. My natural instinct would be to go for a couple-year-old IS-F.

However, I've always been smitten with the M3. Seems like everyone who drives them loves them. After reading hundreds of threads here, I'm pretty sold. Still undecided about coupe or convertible; I've always wanted a convertible of some sort, but 400+ pounds extra is a high price to pay.

I'm leaning towards an '08 or 09, Tech + Premium packages with Enhanced Prem Sound, silver or gray with black interior, 20-spoke wheels. The nearest one from Jacksonville FL per Autotrader is North Carolina - and a perfectly optioned IS-F popped up for sale five miles from my house - ugh! Must resist...
