Peeled 535

Very nice. I've been peeling (debadging) my cars since the 70's. Always try to personalize my rides with selective paint applications as well. I was blacking out the A-B-C pillar and window surrounds 20 years before it became part of the Sport Pkg. I did all of my friends' cars as well. BMW, Saab, Audi, Benz. They all have room for selective mods. No Chip Foose radicals. Just some clean personalization. One suggestion. If you are leasing, you may have to reapply the badging at lease end. I always take a pic and measure the location of badges. Upon turn in, I buy 3M tape and reapply.

Any tips? I hear a lot of members just used dental floss. I guess you just hook it under the emblem and pull?

Never understood the de-badging thing. Why not go all the way and remove the roundel?

To each their own. I think that debadging a vehicle adds symmetry and a clean final look. I also think it gives a more custom feel with a hint of mystery. In my opinion, having any emblem off to the side distracts from beautiful features of that area, such as the tail lights and dual exhaust for the rear. The roundel does not take away from the symmetry. Again, this is just my opinion.

How though? The exhausts are different between the 550i, 535, and 528.

Here's a pic of our 328xi debadged by the dealer for us, the side xdrive emblems are realllllly bad IMO

I like debadging only when it implies something. Add a Burgur Tune for less than $400 but over 50hp and the quad exhaust and then you have everyone (even at the stop light) saying...what was that? I'm seriously thinking of that tune. Apparently no mods required.

Because that is inset into the bodywork in most cases. In addition I find it less obtrusive than the lettering

Any car looks better without all the cluttered lettering. The controversy comes when people with lower model cars do it (along with subtle wheel/trim upgrades) to pose as a higher end model.

I debadge almost all of my rides....... so I can do it to my 550 but not my 328? :-)

The only thing I dislike is people that re-badge with another model number !!

Another way to do it is to use fishing line instead of dental floss. When I debadged my Eclipse long time ago I just used my fingernails and pulled on it till they came off and then cleaned up the area with Goo Gone. Wont ever do that again

Ok, I've been on the fence about debadging my F07 but you inspired me. Ten minutes later - all done! The hardest part was explaining where the floss went (I used the last of the roll...)

As for why - I never liked the big silver "GT". It just looked out of place.
