Can only start car with wallet key! Pls help!

Hi guys,

I'm a proud first time owner of a BMW, a 01, 330i!

My only problem is that I can only start the car at first with the wallet key. The master key will only start the car if I immediately restart if after using the wallet key. Otherwise, the master key will work everything else except for the ignition.

I've looked everywhere for the answer...hoping you guys can help!

I had a problem with my keys during my first year of ownership where I wouldn't be able to start my car at all at times (even after an initial start up). Turns out the keys had to be "reset" by hitting the lock, unlock buttons in a specific sequence. I had to have the dealer do it. Sorry I'm not much help beyond this. Sounds like your keys may need to be reset. Good luck.

Try tapping the metal key part on a hard surface, if it works then you will need a new key
