The car should start with the MAF unplugged too, so that's not the reason. I would compare one replacement with the one removed to see if they are identical (long enough). Are they OEM?

The same thing just happened to me today. My check engine light has been on for 2 years, i scanned it back then and it said the right cps was bad. I got one from ******************.com it came without the o ring, today i changed it and the car just cranked but no start. I scanned it again and it said no codes. I finally put the old one back in and it fired right up. The one thing i noticed on the new cps is that the wires are molded to go to the rear and the oem one they went towards the front. It has to be that the replacement cps is not right.
