Help CCC Sat Nav is DEAD

Hi All

Can anyone one help or point me in the right direction?

The other day I bought a 2012 DVD Maps with Cameras, Not original i think"" couple days later i notice that my screen kept going blank, and it was reseting it self and coming back on. I decided to remove the disc and it seem to be fine. I had driven my car for a week and when i did the the screen was totally blank!:mad. Right now i am so pissed!!!

so can anyone help

1, Do i need to replace to get it going again?
2, Does it just need reprogramming?
3, Can it be fixed?
4, If replaced for the CiC system, is just replacing the units with reprogramming or do you have to change wiring?
5, Are there things i can check myself like fuses etc?

Any help little or small would be appreciated and if you know of anyone who can help that would be great also

To be honest i really sad and thinking about getting rid of the car, because everyone said i was mad to trade in my M3 for a 650I

Thanks

I would replace the original DVD, & reboot the system. The 6 series will not read the High resolution DVD that the 7 series does. If you purchased one of these, it will not work! To reboot the Idrive, press both CD/DVD eject buttons along with the power button for the radio at the same time.

Hope this helps!

Hi All On U

I paid 300, but then it needed to be reprogrammed to the car. BMW wanted to charge 200. But I know someone who could do it for 80 and replacing it is very easy

Lim hoping a reprogram will sort it out, not really convinced though as most other people posting this problem are having new units!! I will explore a repair route before replacing, let me know if you find a fix

Cheers gaz

Ok update on my fry drive! Diagnostics done at local indi, showed some codes referring to most reset and general idrive not found, i have the codes and will post them later he suggested going to my local specialist indi who had it for a day and a half and said he couldn't even get a code error?? Tbh i don't think they even bothered to look at it as i know there is a recurring fault on the lights that comes up every time, Back to square one, I'm still hoping out for a program/ reset type cure, I'm gonna play with it some more, check wiring into set etc maybe even pull the thing apart n have a muchy round inside! Then it's off to the dealer for diagnostic. I have tried all the battery reset stuff and idrive reset, does any one know what I should be getting at the back of the set in the form of fibre lights I have a blue and black fibre cable also a green and black into the power block none are producing light that I can see. I have removed the set for now awaiting time to have a peek inside, I replaced the DVD drive about 4 months ago with a new one from main dealer and all was good until low battery, anyone have a ccc for sale just in case?

If you want new BMW OEM for around $650 and up, try http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do The core charge is steep but the install is very easy. See the videos on youtube Have the car programmed afterwards ... 1.5 hours at the dealer or an indie that has the optical interface for Autologic or Prog.
